Anglian Water Group

Anglian Water Group’s principal business is water and sewerage services, run by Anglian Water Services.  Anglian Water payroll pays 4000 people who serve around six million customers in the East of England and Hartlepool.

In 2010, Anglian Water launched ‘Love Every Drop’ a campaign to put water at the heart of a sustainable way of living. It set 10 goals with 100 commitments and measures, one of which was to encourage employees to understand how they can lead more sustainable lives. The payroll team set to work exploring ways they could support this pledge, switching from paper to epayslips seemed an obvious first option, but how could they achieve this without imposing change on employees who found it difficult geographically to gain good internet connections and did not use the internet at work or home.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has a diverse workforce of almost 600 people. When the payroll team were asked to review their work and seek an online payslips alternative, they turned to their payroll software provider. When the software provider couldn’t deliver what was needed the Council initially thought it would have to invest in new payroll software.

Network Rail

Network Rail owns and operates Britain’s rail infrastructure employing 35,000 people across the UK. EADS Personnel Services UK

EADS is a global leader in aerospace, defence and related services. In January 2009 EADS created EADS Personnel Services UK, a dedicated people management support vision, responsible for the HR and payroll functions of the UK based business units within the group. 

Part of the team’s remit at EADS Personnel Services UK was to bring together the processing and distribution of numerous payrolls. This was no easy task, as each business unit operated a different payroll system, running payslips at varying times of the month, with differing volumes, formats and methods of distribution.
